Junior League Tour of Kitchens

The Junior League of Atlanta, Inc., is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Distinctive Remodeling Solutions was featured in the 14th Annual Junior League Tour of Kitchens. The new Kitchen of this Dunwoody home boasts cherry cabinets in a cinnamon finish, with granite countertops and a backsplash of tiles in warm neutral.  The island in cream has architectural interest with raised paneling and corbels supporting a granite top in a deep hue.  The Master Bath was transformed to a spa atmosphere with a spacious walk-in shower and his & her vanity sinks.  Travertine tile throughout adds warmth.  The Hall Bath complements the Master with travertine tile and, by varying the pattern, interest and definition are achieved.  Click here to see our kitchen — #14!

Distinctive’s feature in the 13th Annual Junior League Tour of Kitchens proves that small can be spectacular.  This Loring Heights Kitchen expanded its space simply by opening walls to two other rooms.  Warm cherry cabinetry in a Whiskey Black finish is complemented by new Oak Flooring, expertly stained to match floors in the rest of the home.  All new stainless appliances form an inviting aesthetic.  The focal point of the room is a custom multi-colored mosaic backsplash in hand-painted tiles above the cooktop.  The new Kitchen matches both the vibrant lifestyle of intown living and welcoming feel of this charming cottage.

In the 12th Annual Junior League Tour of Kitchens, Distinctive opened the cramped Kitchen of this Collier Hills home by adding on to the back of the home.   The new Kitchen boasts granite counters, an entertainment peninsula, and an island with cook top.  All cabinetry was designed to mimic the home’s original woodwork.  The newly built-in hutch with glass doors and lighted shelving offers stunning display for china and crystal.  A new Great Room opens off the Kitchen, and its Wet Bar, echoing the Kitchen cabinetry, provides refreshments from its wine cooler and ice maker.  Click here to see our featured kitchen

The 2008 Junior League Tour of Kitchens reveals a true transformation.  This Brookhaven home was a mix of styles and had no direction.  The owner, a young sports star, wanted the home to reflect the ultra chic feel of urban  Europe where he was raised.  The Kitchen is spectacular with a custom glass topped bar, marble tile in a 1″ x  1″ check pattern, windows of etched glass, aluminum fixtures, and lighting that can be programmed to revolve colors.  The clean lines of the cabinetry are given warmth with deep wood tones and the space is anchored by wood floors stained in a golden hue. Our 2007 Junior League Kitchen was created in period style to match the rest of the home which had been built in the 1920′s.  Cottage style cabinetry with inset doors and white paint are complemented with black granite counter tops and a backsplash of blue/green subway tile.  The back door entryway boasts  tall cabinets providing a home for the stacked washer/dryer and additional storage.  The refrigerator cabinetry provides space for the TV and stacked uppers with mullion glass offer lighted display.  A wine hutch built into the basement stairwell accomodates not only wine, but the home’s stereo system.  This feature creates a pleasing transition from the kitchen to the dining room.  Click here to view the schedule

"This was my first remodeling experience and my builder was able to anticipate the answers before I could ask the questions.  Also, they offered great advice for situations that I was not aware would happen.  I was extremely pleased with the choice I made in Distinctive Remodeling Solutions."
